Well, here I am,at 5:33 am,having been up most of the night, feeling all reflective and stuff.I kinda came up with this thought. In every life there comes a time,a defining moment,..and in that moment, you cannot go back to who or what you were.I've been told it's called an epiphany. When I was dropped off that morning,at Hollywood and Vine,I guess thats what I had.My epiphany, and I knew, without a doubt, that this was it.Home. Mecca for any kid who loved music and movies. And,it would change me forever. It was late in 1971 when I took off from my parents place!Headed straight to Hollywood. Within a few months I found a job at the Hollywood Free Press, saw Alice Cooper, and found a place called PJs,which within a very short time was turned into the Starwood Nightclub. That building was to wind up being where I grew up,even celebrating my 21'st B'day there. Anyway,..back to the present for a moment,..
The TV inspired me to create this blog, due to VH1 doing a late late show about LA bands in the 70s.Lol! It started me remembering all the old bands that had come through the Starwood during that time, and a few were shown on the show.I got on the net to see if I could find one of them, the Banshees, but I only found Souxie's band and a band in the 80's with that name. Not my friends, who I remember well. In searching,.I also found a website here,in Blogger.com about the Starwood, but only about the 80's and the Punkers there. That was during it's downfall really.
*****If anyone reads this-I have to go for now,but will return to finish this post in a bit.*****
